Kobo, a global leader in eReading, today announced exclusive North American Kobo Arc tablet promotions in honour of Father's Day along with great book recommendations from its own Dads - who truly love to read. From inspirational stories about living life to the fullest, to thought-provoking fiction, to great books to read as a family, Kobo offers book suggestions to suit any father's interests. In addition to a comprehensive library, whether it's a bestsellers or full-colour illustrated books for the kids, the Kobo Arc offers the best possible reading experience.

Here are a few suggested titles that have inspired Kobo Dads in both their work and family lives - perfect for Father's Day this year.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
"This book inspired me to provide my kids the kind of life that would lead them to put me on their list of the five people they would meet in heaven."
- Wayne White, EVP and General Manager, Devices, Kobo

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff... and it's all small stuff by Richard Carlson
"This book puts life into perspective and reminds you to keep the little things from overtaking your everyday life in order to focus on what's really important."
- Greg Twinney, COO, Kobo

Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth, M.D.
"Any parent who has suffered through those sleepless nights has either read this book or one like it. I loved the suggestions, and while they didn't always work, they provided some 'light' at the end of that sleepless tunnel."
- Todd Humphrey, EVP, Business Development, Kobo

In celebration of fathers and their families, the Dads at Kobo also suggested books they enjoy reading with their own children.

The BFG by Roald Dahl
"It's an exciting story about a little girl who meets a very special giant who crushes kids' nightmares. It sends an important message about not judging others on the way they look, because they could be the nicest people/giants that you'll ever meet."
-Greg Twinney, COO, Kobo

Magic Tree House #1: Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope Osborne
"It's an engaging story that allows my kids to learn about dinosaurs, ancient Egypt, history, etc. We took a family vacation to Italy, and before we visited Pompeii we read the story together and it helped really make the history come to life."
-Dan Leibu, CTO, Kobo

Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl
"All of the Roald Dahl books are great - you can't choose just one. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a perfect example: hilarious, ludicrous, and joyful with a touch of darkness, and so much fun to read. Even with kids in their tweens, I can still read Dahl's books to them to this day."
- Michael Tamblyn, CCO, Kobo

KOBO ARC - READS YOU LIKE A BOOK
Like a good book, this is the tablet that Dad won't be able to put down this Father's Day. The Kobo Arc's 7" high-definition display delivers crisp, sharp text, and its 1.5 GHz processor make it easy for Dad to enjoy a highly-responsive, ultra-fast web browsing and multitasking experience. This Google-certified Android 4.1 tablet has access to the Google Play store, which offers more than 700,000 apps and games, with much-loved pre-loaded apps like Facebook, Twitter, Rdio, Zinio, and PressReader. The device's 16-million colours, brings photos and videos to life, and with front-facing speakers with SRS TruMedia, a built-in microphone, and high-resolution 1.3 MP camera, it's perfect for taking photos and videos. The Kobo Arc offers up to 10 hours of continuous reading or video play, and two weeks on standby. Kobo Arc's exclusive interface, Tapestries, allows users to collect and curate content of interest in dynamic, visual Tapestries by "pinning" content to the home screen. The Discover Ribbon leverages a cross-media recommendations engine to recommend related content based on the items pinned to Tapestries. The more users collect in their Tapestries the more the Kobo Arc learns what they love and provides them with more engaging content - a new way to discover content from eBooks, movies, and TV shows, to music, web pages, and more. The Kobo Arc is available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB configurations and is available in black and white.
