Starting a small business is always risky. It entails effort, time and money. Author Kieran Mohammed believes that small business is the heart of a country's economy. With the financial system's state and the rise of the unemployment rate, having a guide that provides useful definitions, comparisons, and rationale that allows entrepreneur and small-business owner to understand the concepts and principles needed to establish a successful business is very essential.

"Principles of Small Business" is designed to assist small-business owners and entrepreneurs with decision-making and principle building in order to successfully start and run a small business. It applies decision-making analysis and demonstrates the value of four critical principles: process, strategy, financial intelligence (business economics and financial analysis), and ethics and concisely explains their value to the small-business owner. The language is simple and straightforward, with no requirement for prior experience or business sense.

This book is designed to provide knowledge directed to small business success in a simple, easy to understand context. It covers all areas of the fundamentals of small business using examples, and techniques that the small business owner can appreciate and easily assimilate. The overall goal is to present the small business owner with direction on strategy and process for attaining small business success.

"Principles of Small Business" takes into consideration real life experience, traditional business failure mentality and remedies that begin in the thought process through the actual process and day to day activity of small business. The author hopes that small business owners use this book as a handy, back pocket guide to attaining success. He envisions a small business owner hiring a new manager and, after realizing that they need a little help, handing him this book and saying, "read this tonight and let me know what you think in the morning". This volume is designed to have that sort of immediate impact.
