Just in time for Mother's Day weekend, former Arizona Republic columnist Kathleen Buckstaff returns to Theatre Artists Studio for a very special event. On Saturday, May 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., The Studio will host a special Book Signing and Champagne Reception to introduce Ms. Buckstaff's new book, In The Tiffany Box, A Memoir.

About Kathleen's new book: In The Tiffany Box, A Memoir, Kathleen Buckstaff weaves together an unforgettable story using her own emails, letters, diary entries and columns about her journey with her mother through illness and beyond. It is a personal account that is often raw, humorous, heartbreaking, and inspiring.

The memoir was originally produced as a one-woman play, THE TIFFANY BOX, A LOVE REMEMBERED, which premiered at The Studio on November 4, 2010. Kathleen performed the play to sold-out theatres in Phoenix and San Francisco, as well as in New York City as part of a solo festival where it was honored as one of the most outstanding plays. The response to the play from audiences in all three cities was so overwhelmingly positive that it inspired Kathleen to expand the story to include more humor columns, diary entries and letters.

Emmy Award-winning writer and playwright HAl Corley calls The Tiffany Box "A beautifully executed exploration of the human heart - its strength, resiliency and infinite capacity to love."

Paola Gianturco, author of Grandmother Power, says "Kathleen Buckstaff has a big heart and a truth-telling spirit. She spins an intergenerational story about grandparents, parents and children who are glued together by generosity and love. Her book will sweep you to the center of her family's joys and tragedies . . . The Tiffany Box is just plain wonderful."

A member of Theatre Artists Studio, Kathleen Buckstaff received her BA in English and Creative Writing and her MA in Journalism from Stanford. Her columns have been published in the Los Angeles Times, The Arizona Republic, Sun Literary Magazine and The San Francisco Chronicle. In addition to writing columns, plays, and books, Kathleen works as a performance artist. She currently lives with her husband and three children in the San Francisco Bay area.

Tickets for this special event are $35, with proceeds going to support The Studio's Spring Challenge Grant Campaign. Copies of TheTiffany Box, A Memoir, will be available for purchase during the book signing. For tickets, call the Studio box office at 602-765-0120 or visit www.thestudiophx.org.
