NILES, Ohio, July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ Joseph J. Vitale, 91-year-old former U.S. Marine, railroad supervisor, prize fighter, father of four, widower, and author, released a new book "What I Would Do As U.S. President."

The Ohio author, father of bestselling author Joe Vitale, has surprising common sense opinions about women's rights, wars, unemployment, taxes, tobacco, and more.

He discusses -

  • What would he feed leaders from other countries? (It'll make you laugh, but a real President did this.)
  • What would he do with Air Force One? (You'll never guess, but it actually makes sense.)
  • How much taxes would low income earners pay? (Anyone making less than $25k a year will love this.)
  • How often would the President travel to meetings? (Let's just say the President won't need luggage.)

After the author's wife of 63 years died in March, he turned his attention to sharing his opinions about running the country. He recorded the material on cassettes and sent the tapes to his oldest son in Austin, Texas, who had them transcribed, edited, and turned into a book.

"We need a common sense alternative to Trump and Hillary," said Vitale's son, a star in the hit movie The Secret and a bestselling author of numerous books, including "Zero Limits" and "The Secret Prayer."

"My Dad was influenced by FDR and policies from decades ago that could still work today," adds his son. "Plus some of his ideas are hilarious yet practical, while others are shocking yet make sense."

"Most people can't run their own home let alone the country," says the 91-yr-old Ohio author. "I have advice that will work."

The elderly author works out twice a day, and hasn't missed a day of exercise in 70 years. After his daily exercise, he sends copies of his new book to governors he thinks need it, as well as to presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

"I'm writing my own name in the ballot box," explains the 91-year-old author, "but I don't expect to win."

Read the new book for education or entertainment, suggests the son. "Either way, you'll learn something."

Joseph J. Vitale's book "What I Would Do As U.S. President" is sold on Amazon as a printed paperback or for Kindle readers at https://www.amazon.com/What-Would-Do-U-S-President/dp/1533431884/

The author is available by appointment only for phone or in-person interviews from his home in Niles, Ohio.
