Some people say Tom's obsession with music is unhealthy. Growing up in the 1970s and 1980s in England, he develops his love of music and builds a massive record collection, which he sells to fund his new Rave lifestyle. Years later, he decides to regain his lost collection and finds himself on a trail of discovery in Jon Reeves's new novel, "My Name is Tom" (published by AuthorHouse UK).

Reeves was inspired to write "My Name is Tom" by his own experiences in the 1970s, '80s and '90s. "The period it is set is fascinating to those who were there and those who weren't," he says. "The music referred to throughout has influenced so many of today's artists, fashions and ways of thinking.

Above all, Reeves wants readers to laugh as they read his book. "I also want them to recognize character traits from people in their own lives, and for some readers to know that there is, and has always been others just like them out there. And that music can be so comforting, just like it was for me when I was experiencing what the book is about. Also doing the right thing and being honest, regardless of what the masses may think of it, is always the best policy."
