LADERA RANCH, Calif. - Author Jim May has maintained in the past that he is a fiction writer, but he blurred that line when he ventured into poignant commentaries. In his new publication, "Spinmeisters" (published by Xlibris), he uncovers a collection of his admiration for people with ability to construct a message to manage its influence of others (i.e. politicians, crisis management consultants, advertising consultants, etc.) and includes many commentaries which he believes can make a sociological difference.

Regardless of the genre or subject matter, May uses the same logic and storytelling abilities to lead the horse to water. In this book, he tours readers through the beauty of language manipulation and conditioning of narrative for the purpose of influencing others. He will entertain them while demonstrating the intellectual skills of so-called spin doctors in all walks of life, including both those who are purely soliciting with an honest but biased intention and also those who are unabashedly scheming to achieve their results.

Marion Miskell, author and editor, sums up the book perfectly:
"Jim May's "Spinmeisters" expresses the grand old art of spinning the truth. Drawing upon some serious and many humorous and outrageous examples of spin in our time, he becomes our guide in recognizing and protecting us from the wily works of Spinmeisters. Moving beyond truth-checking, Jim shares from his own positive examples of creating win-win negotiations, and even being healed by the power of language."

A detailed and instructional manual, "Spinmeisters" sets a new awareness of the ever-present language conditioning found in people's daily lives. This will help readers develop an ability to spot the real meaning of propaganda-like messages and an appreciation for the art of language conditioning.
