Jenny La Sala Releases NEVER FORGOTTEN

There are many Vietnam Veterans today who suffer silently from survivor's guilt and the trauma of haunting, combat flashbacks. Many of today's readers either know someone who fought during the Vietnam War and/or has a family member that served it. The realization of this agonizing plight for so many Nam Vets became the impetus for author Jenny La Sala to publish their stories in "Never Forgotten-The Vietnam Veteran Fifty Years Later" (published by Trafford Publishing).

This book captures 58 Veteran's accounts and others on what it was like to experience the Vietnam War. In their own words, they talk about their return home, struggles to maintain healthy relationships, decades of recovery and feelings of worthlessness. Many of them find emotional well-being and self-worth by helping other Veterans.

"The sole purpose of this publication was to 'welcome home' our Vietnam Veterans and to share their heartfelt recollections of war," La Sala points out. "I reached out to them for their stories, many of whom declined at first. They were fearful of how they would be perceived. They are still suffering from public opinion of the Vietnam Era, which delayed any chance for rehabilitation. For the most part, Vietnam veterans did not begin to seek help for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder until 35 plus years later, many of whom are experiencing the symptoms of Agent Orange. The outcome of sharing their stories has been a healing experience for the Veterans and their families."

La Sala's desire is that the publication of "Never Forgotten" will help the present and future generations learn about war and the men and women who fought in it. She believes that by understanding these Veterans and the battles they have endured, everyone can begin to know themselves a little bit more.

About the Author
Jenny La Sala published "My Family Compass" to heal from family dysfunction. Her 101st airborne father's wartime letters in the book, "Comes A Soldier's Whisper," opened the door for her veteran advocacy, compassion and understanding PTSD within her own family. Her maternal and paternal ancestors fought in the Civil War and her brother in the Gulf War. "Vietnam and Beyond" was honored as a finalist for the 2015 Eric Hoffer Book Award.
