A little girl discovers that friendship can be found in the most unlikely places the new children's book written and illustrated by Jennifer Barker, "Lily and The Mermaid's Tear" (published by AuthorHouse).

Lily had always secretly suspected she was a mermaid, so when she went swimming at the beach one day she wasn't surprised when she looked down and saw that she had a shiny mermaid tail. She began to swim happily to the depths of the ocean in search of new adventure.

Under the sea, Lily meets other mermaids, picks sea flowers and even has a race with dolphins. Barker's colorful illustrations bring the story to life, and Lily enjoys a wonderful day with her new underwater friends.

An excerpt from "Lily and The Mermaid's Tear":

"'I will miss you' said Mermaid Abby, and as she spoke she caught one of her shiny tears before it floated away. She placed the tear around Lily's neck and said 'Wear this always to remind you that you are a mermaid no matter where you are!'"
