"Taking off the Mask": a moving and powerful plea to face the realities of sin and understand that no one is alone in struggle, only one of the many who are afraid to ask for help. "Taking off the Mask" is the creation of published author, Janice Marie, recording artist, United States Marine, and recipient of a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies from the University of Maryland University College.

Janice feels moved by the Holy Spirit to share her tale. She says, "I was inspired to write my story after having experienced a traumatic event that would change my life forever. In telling my story, I hope for God's conviction to impact each and every heart that has been masqueraded by the things of this world."

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Janice Marie's new book offers testimony to the sad ideal that when confronted with the reality of physical, verbal, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse, the first instinct is to hide the true battles and struggles behind a mask worn and adjusted daily. People begin to live a masqueraded lifestyle thinking it will never catch up to them. Until life begins to fall apart. Not knowing who to trust and turn to creates a void to be filled with drugs and promiscuity. The need to be loved and satisfied are temporarily controlled by a moment of pleasure. Money is spent and lost with nothing to show for it. Unable to stop, the lost souls begin to entertain the voices in their head telling them to end their lives.

But the reality is that they are not the only one struggling with a specific issue, but one of many who are afraid to ask for help or speak up due to fear of being rejected, judged, and abandoned. Fear of the unknown is inevitable.

It's time to dress in the "Just do it" mentality and take on His yoke. "Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30.
