As Ike Knife reflects upon the creative act of articulating his thoughts, feelings and perceptions in words, it gives him a heightened sense of self awareness and purpose. He realizes that sharing these words might inspire or benefit others in a similar way and thus, he writes "Catch a Sunset" (published by Xlibris).

This book shares a collection of poems that recounts memorable moments of clarity experienced by one person across two decades of young to middle-aged adulthood. They are one individual's take on what truly matters in life, crafted during various moments of inspiration. Their insights are universal because they relate to typical events, situations and conundrums faced by people of all ages and walks of life.

"This book will appeal to readers because it is real," Knife says. "It is drawn from real-life experiences that are easily recognizable and understandable. The truths are expressed succinctly and powerfully through economy of wording, syncopated cadence and rhyme."

Inspired by places in several cities in Texas, California, China and the United Arab Emirates, "Catch a Sunset" is a simple, straightforward and completely accessible compendium of feelings, thoughts and impressions. It is organized alphabetically by title, which symbolizes the learning journey experienced by all human beings as they walk along their respective paths through life.
