SANDGERDI, Iceland

A lack of books to read is what prompted author Ingibjörg Naomi Friðþjófsdóttir to write her own book. Her son told her that since she had already read all of the books she was interested in and did not have anything else to read at the town's library, she should start writing her own books again. The author thought about it and when she started writing, she could not stop. Thus, it resulted "Prophecy" (published by Xlibris UK), the first book in a trilogy of supernatural fiction.

This book tells the story of Tialilja Tomasdottir, born and raised in Isafjordur, a small town in the west side of Iceland. She is a young author who has been writing books based on the visions she's been having since she was a young girl. Unbeknown to her, she is a threat to certain groups in the world, and they set out to hunt her down and stop her from publishing any more books.

In between running for her life, falling in love, being attacked, and losing people she loves, she finds out there is something special about her. She realizes that she is a part of an old prophecy and a certain power-hungry man will do everything to get his hands on her. After being hunted for so long, the big question is who can she trust? Who is giving out information about her? Who is betraying her?

"Prophecy" is partly based on Icelandic folklore about an Icelandic girl pushed out into the big bad world and has to defend herself with what little knowledge she has about the world she is entering. Readers will learn how quickly she adjusts and how hard she fights back. She shows how Icelandic independent women think, and how they are taught when they are young to never give up no matter what one is facing.
