HELPING HERBIE HEDGEHOG Wins Pinnacle Award

Members of NABE include a variety of publishing houses, small presses, independent publishers, print on demand titles, and self publishers. Books are recognized for the Pinnacle Award based on content, quality, writing style, presentation and cover design.

Among the Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards for Summer 2015, is "Helping Herbie Hedgehog," an early chapter book for children, written by Melissa Abramovitz.

She is the author of hundreds of magazine articles, more than 40 educational books for children and teenagers, numerous poems and short stories, several children's picture books, and a book for writers titled, A Treasure Trove of Opportunity: How to Write and Sell Articles for Children's Magazines.

Melissa also does freelance manuscript editing. She is a graduate of the University of California San Diego and the Institute of Children's Literature and is a member of SCBWI, Children's Book Insider, and The Working Writer's Club.
