SACRAMENTO, Calif.

Author Gordan Stevens is launching a new marketing campaign for his 2012 memoir, "Screwed Without Intercourse" (published by AuthorHouse).

Stevens' book introduces readers to a man who had all the makings of a prosperous future, but when another man tried to step in and stop the author's search for love, Stevens' life was altered forever.

"This is a true story," Stevens says. "All I was looking for was love. For reasons I didn't understand, law enforcement wouldn't help me when I was being stalked. I had to defend myself, and the result of my actions meant the loss of my freedom. I was taken into custody, and I learned fascinating 'truths' about prison, a place I never thought I'd be. Most of my book is written from behind prison walls. Each letter I wrote home during my 11 months in prison was saved, and I used them to write about all of the events that took place while I was incarcerated."

The author invites readers to journey with him as he describes what happened to him, how the courts reacted to him and how he adjusts to living a year of his life in prison. Through his story, Stevens hopes to expose the lack of rehabilitation resources available to prison inmates and the seeming lack of concern from anyone in the system that the prisoner is truly reformed.

"Most people say prison changes you," Stevens says, "I say, prison only changes you if you let it!"
