Ginny Bache, aka VK Lynn says that working and observing the changes in healthcare for over 55 years caused an eruption of negative feelings about the future of quality care for the patients. In "Wake Up America!" (published by AuthorHouse), she writes with the hope that others will awaken to the trend and join her in pushing for a better system of care for the people.

"If you have not been a patient in a hospital or nursing home recently, you may not be aware of what is really happening as to the care and costs of healthcare," Bache expresses. "No one bothers until they are presented with a bill they don't understand or receive care that is atrocious. It will only get worse unless we take a stand and learn how the government is usurping our rights for quality care when we are the most vulnerable."

This book is written with the hope that the readers will be motivated to speak up to their legislators, banking on the belief that public opinion can force changes. It calls for those in charge on both the federal and state levels that are out of control and have no idea of the time, energy and money that is wasted in just reimbursement procedures. This is a lamentation and an urging for change.

We have become too wealthy, too comfortable and far too ignorant of what is happening right in front of us that is going to do us in. In our healthcare facilities we are ruled by marketers and the push for bigger pools, art galleries and pubs, etc., outweighs the insistence on higher quality of care in the nursing units.
