After she married a deacon in her church that she had known for a very long time, author Geraldine McCall had previously dated him and she thinks, the vibes between them at that time, were not good. Her experience with a man whom she thought she wanted in her life inspired her to write "Unequally Yoked" (published by iUniverse).

Valerie Chase has been single for 14 years and has no plans to change her status. She loves her church, African Missionary Baptist Church and works with different ministries with a smile. She has built a satisfying life around her family and her church until she marries Oscar Bradford. She thought she could accept Oscar as he was with all of his odd behaviors. But after living alone for 30 years, Oscar found it extremely hard to accept Valerie and her way of doing things. Along with a new husband, Valerie found that her mother, whom she loves dearly, was having problems with her memory.

"This story is being lived by people everywhere and in all cultures," McCalls says. "Everyone who reads this book will recognize something in it that they have experienced or know of someone who has experienced it. It will show readers what can happen when you marry someone with a different agenda. Women and men will learn to listen closely to what their partner tells them. Learn to look beyond the surface of a person and look deeper."

"Unequally Yoked" hopes to provide readers with a deeper understanding of how easy it is making the wrong choice and how difficult to correct this choice can be. However, with God, all things are possible.
