In this heartwarming recollection of his past, author George P. Richardson, Ph.D. revisits his younger days and the years he spent with his wonderful wife with fondness and affection. Under 2 flags chronicles his life story that has gone full circle from the Midwest to Germany and back to the Midwest to California.

The author talks about the wonderful people he met along the way and his time before and during World War II in Germany. He shares his stint as a teacher and administrator and his career as a stuntman in Hollywood. This book also includes his horseback riding days, as well as his sailing races and his ever faithful dogs. He stresses the importance of country and family in his time, elaborating on the hardships and challenges that he has to conquer in order to get to where he is now. Despite the fact that he lived in the time of stress and change, he managed to lead a fruitful life.

Richardson also admits his awe of God. He does not particularly think that God is particularly loving and kind to people. He and his wife, Hildburg are of conviction that in time beyond, they are going to meet and be together. If there is no hereafter, then that which they experienced together, every moment of that life he had with that wonderful lady "Under Two Flags", the German Flag and the American Flag, from the horse to the canine, to the seagulls, he has no regrets.

Vivid and quite evocative, Under 2 flags recalls the eventful journey of a man who lived in two countries and became the product of two diverse cultures.

About the Author
The author of the attached biography was born in 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His mother originated in the vicinity of Dresden and his father was a proprietor of a beauty salon in Minnesota. After the separation of his parents in 1936, the author moved with his mother to Dresden. He attended school there until the start of World War II. Early in his life, he discovered his passion for horses and horseback riding. When he turned 16, he was scheduled to be drafted by the Germans; but as an American citizen, he refused to be engaged in warfare against the United States - and he was interned therefore. After the war, he pivoted between Germany and the United States. He met his late wife Hildburg in Heidelberg, which was the greatest event in his life. In Los Angeles, he became a professional horseman. That led him to Hollywood and a career as a stuntman. Throughout this time, he had continued with his studies at the USC (University of Southern California) and he later completed his PhD. His activity as a teacher in many schools and later as a school administrator was completed with a great deal of enthusiasm.
