Author Gary Paul Stephenson spent most of his life traveling the globe to transact with large blue chip international companies. During his travels, he was exposed to the ecological crisis the world is currently facing. As he and his wife are both environmentalists, this global condition inspired him to use his imaginative mind and talent in writing to create a fictional adventure that enlightens readers on the significance of the natural environment to people's lives. He now introduces his environmental thriller, "The Pacific Depths."

The novel narrates the exploits of Charles Langham, a philanthropist billionaire who uses his technologically-advanced organization in his fight for the environment. Following a presentation to the UN, he realizes the United States president is out to destroy him and his organization. He evacuates his wife from their Amazon project. Meanwhile, his team locates two underwater drilling rigs off the Californian coast that they link to the president's closest aides who are being used by an ex-Nazi hell-bent on the nuclear destruction of the United States.

Covering relevant political and ecological issues, "The Pacific Depths" is a suspense-packed fiction that follows one man as he defends the environment at all costs. It talks about the sacrifices he makes as he becomes the archenemy of a very powerful man. The book takes readers to the South Pacific and the Amazon Rainforest to witness Langham's heroic acts as he resolves an issue that involves the destruction not only of his immediate milieu-but of the whole country as well.

An advocate for nature conservation, Stephenson aims to catch readers' interest as he presents this fascinating novel based on a realistic ecological situation. Written for entertainment and awareness, the book will appeal to environmentalists, thriller enthusiasts and those who have an insatiable thirst for a fast-paced literary adventure.
