About the Author
Gordon K. Klintworth was a member of the faculty at Duke University and has served the university for more than 52 years. He was a professor of pathology and the Joseph A. C. research professor of ophthalmology. For 22 years, he was the director of research at the Duke Eye Center. He published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers in scientific publications. In addition he has authored or edited more than 87 books or book chapters. Klintworth served for more than 20 years on the Duke institutional review board, and for a decade he was the program director of a K12 clinician-scientist training grant supported by the National Eye Institute.
