EXETER, Calif.

Exposing the corruption he witnessed firsthand in the realm of law enforcement, author and former sheriff's deputy Bernard Fife penned his new book "Stabbed in the I ... (Integrity): A True Story of a Deputy Sheriff Who Was the Target of a Character and Physical Assassination by His Own Department" (published by AuthorHouse), which serves as a tell-all about what he calls the "conspiratorial actions of administration personnel."

Once an ideological young man yearning to become a pillar of excellence to which the public looked for guidance and safety, Fife says his upstanding character and promising education went unrewarded by a "vindictive captain" who held a grudge against Fife's father.

"Two murder attempts were made on my life by my own department where I served as a deputy," Fife says. "I was ordered to move a crate of decomposing dynamite without any support units like ambulance, fire or others."

Fife hopes his book will teach his readers about what he sees as the government's abuse of power and the Constitutional rights all citizens have.

An excerpt from "Stabbed in the I ... (Integrity)":

"As I was only three of the members of the ten members STEP Team without military experience, he wanted me out. He allegedly shared his feelings with then Lieutenant D. Walters who in turn notified Captain House (there's that name again). Sergeant Miller took it upon himself to attempt to get me out of the STEP team and came up with an idea that he would attempt to ruin my character."
