Lea Berman, previously of the George W. Bush administration, and Jeremy Bernard (President Obama's party planner in chief), have both signed a book deal for a manual entitled, TREATING PEOPLE WELL, which is set for release by Simon & Schuster's Scribner. It is due out next year.

Berman says, "The White House is of course a very political environment. But everyone, no matter what, does their best work when they come from a place of mutual respect, and that might be getting lost in American culture."

Jeremy Bernard served as the White House Social Secretary. Bernard was appointed to the position by President Barack Obama on February 25, 2011. He was the first male, as well as the first openly gay individual, to serve as White House Social Secretary.

Lea Berman runs a popular blog on entertaining, entitled AMERICA'S TABLE.
