VANCOUVER, Nov. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ Bryan Sommer, CPA, CA, CFP, CIM, shares the success of his financial clients to help others find their best path to retirement security in his new book, The Reveal: Stepping Across the Line into Retirement.

As a financial advisor at one of Canada's premier retail banking companies, Sommer guides his clients into finding the right path to retirement for their individual needs. He believes in using a holistic approach to retirement, that all parts need to be interconnected and work together for the greater good, and in order to do so Sommer treats his clients as his family. Now, with the release of his book, The Reveal, Sommer wants to share his knowledge and expertise with as many people as he can.

"Bryan Sommer's timeless advice can help guide you and give you clarity through not only a successful retirement but a true high quality of life before or after crossing the line," says David Young, CEO, Sources Community Resource Centre.

One of Sommer's greatest assets is his age. As someone in his mid-30s, Sommer has gained experience to help successfully lead his clients, but he also provides the assurance that he won't be passing off his clients when he retires. "My clients know that I will be there for them, and I will be there for their children and for their grandchildren. I will not be retiring myself just as they are settling into a comfortable retirement," Sommer explains. "They have seen clearly the importance of building a strong and trusting relationship with a financial advisor, and the last thing they want to do, as they are trying to enjoy their retirement, is to devote their energies to building such a relationship with someone else."

In The Reveal, Sommer walks people through the different stages of retirement: the preplanning, the act of retiring, trusting the plan that is in place, and looking after your family throughout retirement and even after. Interspersed with real-life anecdotes and success stories, The Reveal also discusses the best ways to use the tax system to one's advantage and the questions that need to be asked throughout retirement planning.

Sommer also understands that it's not just a personal retirement plan there are other factors to consider. Personal financial independence may be the segment of retirement that is most focused on, but Sommer knows that family and social legacy play into retirement as well. Many want to leave a mark on their community or society, as well as ensuring that their families are looked after once they can no longer do so.

"In many situations, through proper planning, people can do more for both their families and charity while saving on taxes," Sommer explains. "Instead of the government collecting a major share and distributing the assets as it sees fit, they could keep control over exactly who benefits from their life' s work."

Sommer wants to share his experience and expertise with as many people as he can, hoping they too can have a successful retirement and pre-retirement.
