Ellen E. Grant, a successful black businesswoman, expands on the ideas she introduced in her first book, "Managing in Black and White," in "Management for You: Leadership Can Be Color-Blind" (published by iUniverse). The book is a self-help guide designed to assist women market themselves to succeed in the business world.

"There are more women elected officials, those seeking office than ever before," says Grant. "We need to support them in seeking positions that can change laws supportive of women and girls now and in the future."

Pulling from her experience, Grant teaches that leadership is a skill that can be learned to make the workplace more successful for all. The book features numerous tips and insights women can implement in their strategies to promote themselves and advance in their workplace.

An excerpt from "Management for You":
A good supervisor, leader should remember they are not in their position to command, but to lead with your team's assistance and in this leading to know how to follow. Lao Tsu, a Chinese philosopher said that in order to lead the people, you have to know how to follow. So many of your own team are the true knowledge experts and they often have the information and ideas that can make you successful as a supervisor/leader in your own role.
