Author Sharon Hurkens challenges Christians and other readers to live a fulfilling life using her new book, "Exit the Wilderness: Enter God's Promises" (published by WestBow Press).

"Exit the Wilderness" addresses the most common reasons why some Christians may not live a life full of abundance and advises Christians on how to open themselves up to God. By letting go of past transgressions, readers will be able to walk the unique path God has set for them, Hurkens asserts. She provides examples from her own life to further her point.

With "Exit the Wilderness," Hurkens aims to illustrate the many gifts she believes God gives his followers. She looks to biblical figures such as Moses, who were ordinary people that overcame the extraordinary, to further encourage her readers.

Through her book, Hurkens reminds readers that Jesus Christ died so they could live happy lives. She hopes readers will embrace this message and turn to God for guidance.

"Everyone, whether Christian or not has experienced pain and the lack of self confidence to accept God's plan for their lives," Hurkens writes. "I believe strongly that as Christians, we can be equipped to leave all our pain, mistakes and fears behind us and walk into the Land of Promise which is God's plan for our lives."
