Hoping to inspire others who have been neglected or abused as a child and encourage them to stand up against it, author Doly has penned "Overcoming All Odds" (published by AuthorHouse), an autobiographical look at how the author fought to obtain her freedom and accomplish her dream.

"This book is a must-read to build up your human spirit," says Doly. "It is here to help you regain your confidence and move away from the environment of slave childhood to a professional personality with positive ambition - building up your self esteem."

Doly regales readers with how she, a young girl, went from being a child-slave to a successful professional. Told from a first-person viewpoint, "Overcoming All Odds" takes readers on an emotional and, at times, humorous journey, from the plains of rural Zimbabwe, to the built up cities of the United Kingdom.

An excerpt from the book:

"Day in and day out when out in the grazing field I regretted why the sun went down. Yet even though I drove the herds of cattle late in darkness with all sorts of wild life endangering me, ranging from hissing snakes to roaring lions, who bothered or cared as to what would happen or what would she eat? That became a daily event with me. Wild berries therefore were my delicious meal and I regretted when they were off season. To be precise I was abused, rejected and forced into child labour."
