Sound Wisdom author, Dixie Gillaspie, partnered with Children's Hospitals in an effort to share her love of books and learning with children who are coping with serious illness.

For each purchased copy of her recently released book, "Just Blow It Up: Firepower for Living an Unlimited Life," a copy of Annette Karr's inspirational children's book, "Wink the One-Eyed Wonder," was delivered to the Children's Center at St. Francis Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House in Wichita, KS in May.

"I've always had a great love for books and the endless learning possibilities that they can bring with them since I was a child," said Gillaspie, "National Children's Book Day came upon the same day as the release of my first book, 'Just Blow It Up: Firepower for Living an Unlimited Life.' This combination sparked the 'pilot light' within me from my childhood and that love of books."

Gillaspie partnered with Karr and Karr's dog, Wink, to bring the story of "Wink the One-Eyed Wonder" to children who have been hospitalized for medical treatment.

"Wink is a very special dog that has had his share of doctor visits and surgeries," said Karr, "Wink was born a little too early and his one eye was not developed enough to be saved, but his spirit was untouched. While his breeder may have termed him as a 'reject', I knew that was untrue. Wink's story shows children that we are all special in our own unique ways and are all 'worth a million!'"

Gillaspie has been a coach, business consultant and analyst, a change agent and a general trouble-shooter to entrepreneurs and business leaders for many years. In that time, she has developed a reputation for always bringing energy, information, insight and enthusiasm to every situation.
