Class Act Books announces the release of "Doing Time in Hell" by J. Bodie as the first entry in its new non-fiction line.

Bodie McIlvane never wanted to be a prison guard. He just applied because his father-in-law talked him into it, saying it was safer than working as a Louisiana oil rig wildcatter. For the next twelve years, he stayed a guard at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

His reminiscences of his training, as well as observation of the men in his custody and the prison system for that mid-Western state led him to realize both guards and inmates are "doing time," but the guards are doing it on the installment plan.

Mr. Bodie passed away shortly after finishing this manuscript. Class Act Books author Toni V. Sweeney was asked by his widow to assist in editing and seeing to its submission for publication.

Under its new ownership guidelines, Class Act Books has opened its doors to genres other than romance, and now includes mysteries, horror, science fiction, Westerns, and non-fiction stories, such as Bodie's memoir, in its lists.
