MERCER ISLAND, Wash. - Suki Chan dreams of inspiring people by relaying the message of never giving up. She believes that despite the unexpected roadblocks that life gives, one can always get through them by doing what one enjoys doing. In her case, it is cooking and eating good food.

In "Crazy and Passionate Healthy Cooking" (published by Xlibris), Chan reveals a tale of salvation told through her life stories and recipes. When her life was completely derailed and she had utterly no hope, cooking unexpectedly became the salve that would help her to mend her wounded heart and broken spirit. Her kitchen became a magical place of healing and adventure. She regained her self-esteem and confidence. Discovering untapped passions, Chan finds the future brighter. In the pages of this book, she chronicles her exciting journey - a journey meant to encourage readers to pursue whatever ignites a fire inside them. Here they will find not only delicious recipes to fill their tummies but also remembrances that will feed their soul.

An excerpt from the book:
A person's success or failure is not predestined. There are always opportunities for change if you maintain a positive attitude and are determined to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. You must be willing to meet obstacles head-on and overcome them. Even if you fail, there is satisfaction in knowing you have learned a valuable lesson. You must never give up.

"I wanted to write my life story and how food has helped me through the toughest times in my life," Chan says. "I wanted to share my life and share my recipes to everyone in hopes that maybe it can help others find happiness through cooking."

All of these cultures have influenced her cooking as well as her many travels to Europe. Currently Chan is working on ideas for her second book.
