An idea comes to author Catherine Cavanaugh in a new and fresh way. Then a word or two gives the ideas a lift and they take on shape and form. She now has seen the poem and it starts to speak. The rest is when things unfold.

In "Poetry by Design" (published by Xlibris), readers will begin to see the life of the characters and feel each poems distinct rhythm and rhyme. The author's love for this poetry gives her an ability to see poetry by design, in which the concept flows from her relationship with God. It is her belief that amidst the difficult times in society, one needs to have a source of encouragement from God. This collection lends itself to one's moments of meditation.

An excerpt from the book:
Words, how I love words...
They transcend time, pierce the darkness, lift us to a higher place,
confusing the wise and enlightening the simple...
Your word oh Lord is alive, above criticism in its authority and rule...
This word is colorful, its richness can warm me, bring joy, direct
and prescribe...

An engaging and spiritually-enriching read, "Poetry by Design" lets readers find the truth in each poem and, in the process, inspires them to seek a closer relationship with God.
