BLACKHEATH, Australia

Author Carolyn Evita takes readers back to a simpler time that she says seems to be lost in the "busy-ness" of life today with her new book, "Stories to Tell" (published by Balboa Press AU).

"It is time to stop embellishing in the selfishness of life and to understand that when we share life experiences, we will never feel the separation of our compassion from the collective imagination," Evita says.

This small book of stories is set in the village where Evita grew up. It follows the life of a young girl who has a healthy and active imagination. The stories depict the young girl's interactions with nature and nature spirits, and how she passed onto her siblings the sacred information garnered from her magical encounters. It also shows readers how those childhood interactions influenced the character once she had her own children to raise.

"The main characters are the hidden yet magical influences over our lives," Evita says. "As children, we have access to the magical world of spirit. I would like my readers to create their own magical world, or remember those innocent ideals they fought so hard for as children."

Based on a collection of experiences from Evita's life, "Stories to Tell" attempts to preserve the integrity and belief systems that were used to nurture Evita's children and her children's children.
