The pain of a lost love mercilessly pulled author Bobby Luckan down into a mud pit of depression. The colors of life paled; he barely saw the days with interest. He was walking weighted with the screaming fact of dead hope. That is when he found catharsis in writing. Looking back at the life he shared with his wife, he found once more, hope in memories.

"My Lotus - Power of the Mind" (published by Partridge Africa) is his moving memoir about true love. The journey commences in Durban in 1972 and continues until 1995 when the couple migrated to Australia. Through storms of sacrifices, they looked forward to a better tomorrow. But life has its plans. They faced the hard times together until it went well. Yet, just when they were finally preparing for retirement, the reins were grabbed by inevitable fate. Luckan shares how they fared through life's highs and lows, what kept them bound for 39 blissful years and how they managed to persist through the unrelenting odds.

"My Lotus" carves a story of love, relationships and survival shared by a family who stood firmly amidst the most painful trials in their lives. To Luckan, this Lotus still and always will shine as brightly as ever. To all who knew her, this incredible bright and bubbly memory will shine on as long as there are stars in the night sky.

Lamenting on the true worth of a person, Luckan leaves this timeless message:

"Life has many obstacles and it is the same for everyone. The sad part is that there are those who think only certain people deserve to be helped and given a chance. My wife was one who would have been forgotten if I had not come into her life. We went against all odds, fought huge battles, had even bigger losses but never gave up. Today, one who was forgotten by the world lives forever."
