Bob Rowen Pens ATLAS DROPPED THE BALL

In a nation of government privatization, Daniel Boyd just wants to do what's right and get his life on track. "Ronald Reagan famously said, the nine most terrifying words in the English language were 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help' and I always thought it would be scarier still if government were replaced by a company whose primary goal was profit," Rowen explains, adding that "Atlas Dropped the Ball" was inspired by a short story he had previously written called "The Ten Most Terrifying Words."

Set in northern New Jersey in the near-future, the novel explores how far things could go if the government was handed over to businesses and reflects the two lines of thought - for and against - by putting human faces on the issue.

In a time when a billionaire is running for president of the United States and some of his opponents believe billionaires already have too much power, Rowen hopes his work will create "an understanding of the way profit and public needs are at odds."
