Author Barry Altman weaves a tale of romance and intrigue in his new romance novel, "I Can See Clearly Now" (published by iUniverse).

Barry Halpern, a hard-working, successful New Jersey surgeon, finds himself adjusting to bachelorhood after divorcing his wife of 23 years. Her narcissistic, obsessive behavior made Barry wary of marriage and relationships in general, but that all changes when he travels to France and meets French artist Monique Girard.

The two fall in love and begin a long-distance relationship, with Barry urging Monique to move to the United States permanently to be with him. When she disappears one day without a trace, Barry fears he's lost his last chance at true love and returns to Paris, where he partners with a French agent and sets out to find her.

The American doctor finds himself on a dangerous change that leads him straight into the clutches of an international mob. He realizes he can only count on himself; he can trust no one. Will he find Monique before it's too late?
