Sacrifice at Sea is the latest novel Susan Wingate's "Bobby's Diner" series. As one of Amazon's Best Selling Authors and the weekly host of her BlogSpot radio show, Dialogue, Wingate has a solid following. And, Sacrifice at Sea will captivate her fans and invite new readers.

Sacrifice at Sea continues to chronicle the life of Georgette Carlisle, owner of Bobby's Diner. After losing her husband and then her fiancé, Georgette has finally met a new man--the police chief of Sunnydale, Willard Cleary. When they decide to take a cruise to the exotic Caribbean, she feels her life start to normalize until she learns there has been a murder aboard their ship. When the murderer turns his attention toward Georgette, their vacation cruise becomes a nightmare at sea.

Wingate crafts genuine characters with very real relationships. Her ability to hone in on personality traits that allow for development of both plot and theme allow the reader to fully appreciate the dynamics of the story line.

In Sacrifice at Sea, Georgette is in love with Willard, but she still has commitment concerns. Wingate artfully develops the mystery, but she also highlights real intimacy and conflict between lovers and friends. Georgette and Willard are joined on the cruise by another couple, Roberta and Rick who are having relationship issues of their own. This foursome rounds out the plot and provides the reader with a sense of perspective from multiple viewpoints.

Wingate has style of writing dialogue that makes her characters come to life. Whether there is "girl talk" between Georgette and Roberta, "guy talk" between Willard and Rick, tension between the respective couples, or sentimental moments between Georgette and Willard, Wingate gets the tenor just right.

Wingate has said that her stories and characters spring from her real life experiences. "Many characters have been taken a little here and a little here there from real people in my life. Many stories, as well. have been taken from real circumstances. But, as a novelist I distort real events and people so they become indecipherable between the two worlds of fiction and reality."

Sacrifice at Sea is proof positive of Wingate's talent to merge fiction with reality. She provides her readers with an alluring tale of love and mystery that rivals the best works in today's literary marketplace.
