Author B. Dean Brown was born in 1932 in the Ozark Mountains. He grew up on a farm with seven siblings. Jobs were scarce and money was scarcer. What his family did have, was love - and lots of it.

Now the recipient of a Men of Achievement Award, Biographical Roll of Honor Award, Who's Who in finance and industry and Who's Who in insurance, Brown's beginnings may be hard to believe. He discusses his journey to success and offers readers tips on how to achieve their own levels of greatness in his new memoir, "Turning Points: From the Outhouse to the Penthouse" (published by WestBow Press).

"People are in need of direction and encouragement," Brown says. "People want to follow a step-by-step path that has been proven to work."

Throughout "Turning Points," Brown discusses the many challenges he faced throughout life and how he overcame them through hard work and determination. He then provides "20 Simple Turning Points," which are intended to guide readers towards their own successes and greatness.

All proceeds from the sales of "Turning Points" will be donated to Images at the Cross, a 501(c)3 organization helping to build the world's largest walkthrough cross. The Branson Cross will be built in Branson, Missouri, and is being spearheaded by Brown.
