Arthur Kasper Releases Mystery Novel on Love, Terrorism

Since the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center, the people of the United States have been acutely aware of Jihad terrorism. Jihad terror, however, was alive and well for many years previous to that attack. Based in Europe in the mid-1980s, "The Afghan File Affair" (published by iUniverse) by Arthur Kasper describes the adventure and mystery surrounding a couple in love whose world is ripped apart by Afghani Islamist Jihad terrorists.

Protagonists Nick Gamble, a journalist, and Natalia Caparosso, a CIA agent, are threatened with death if they do not turn over a secret film to the Arab terrorists with ties to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda led by Imad al-Kaissouni.

When Natalia goes missing, Nick is determined to find the woman he loves, but it turns out she has been kidnapped by Italian mobsters in the employ of Arab terrorists. The ransom is a piece of film he's never heard of, one that exposes the names of Arab terrorists trained in East Germany and sent undercover to America in an effort to install Muslim Sharia law. Natalia will be executed if the film is not recovered, but Nick has no clue where to start looking.

With the help of the American mafia and Italy's secret police, Nick's comfortable life as a journalist is turned upside down as he learns the truth about terrorist cells in Europe and their horrific plans for the future. He is driven to save Natalia, but the reality of the Arab master plan is much more terrifying than anyone could have expected.

About the Author

Arthur Kasper, a native of Detroit, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Marquette University, Milwaukee, and then trained at the then U.S. Army Signal Corps at Ft. Monmouth, N.J., as a combat photographer. He began writing in his youth and went on to work for several newspapers as a photo journalist including the Times Advocate, Escondido, Calif. Kasper was also the bureau chief in Banning, Calif., for the award-winning Riverside, Calif., Press-Enterprise. Kasper published many free lance magazine articles and photos during his career. In 1981, he went to Europe where he stayed for a short time to research his photojournalistic writings and later returned in 1983, at which time he worked on several projects including screenplays and "The Afghan File Affair". He has three grown children and three grandchildren. He currently lives in southeast Texas with his terrier, Lola.
