GREAT FALLS, Va.

Science can no longer be ignored.

In his new novel "The Tsunami That Reshaped America," author James W. Mercer, a hydrogeologist, provides a scientific-based political thriller following a fictitious plot to overthrow the U.S. government using geological warfare.

"Natural threats triggered by humans have the potential to destroy large segments of the world," Mercer said. "Harmful groups can use geology to their advantage."

His story follows a domestic terrorist group's plot to overthrow the U.S. government by creating a mega tsunami that will devastate the eastern seaboard, including Washington D.C.

As the attack looms, time begins to run out for the president, the country and the only two people with the ability to save them all.

"The Tsunami That Reshaped America" shows bigotry is alive in America, beliefs can be taken to extreme measures and terrorism can strike from within the national body.
