In "Armor of Glass," Spears shares the world through the eyes of a Marine, Brick, who is coping with his childhood victimization, memories of war and the loss of love. In the midst of dealing with all the pain and loss, Brick becomes involved with his high school sweetheart who is the first woman appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy. When the secrets she keeps are revealed, he is unable to save her from a terrible fate.

"The main characters are not unlike the millions of adults who have experienced childhood abuse and are suffering addiction, alcoholism, depression, and thoughts of suicide," Spears said.

With Spears' numerous years of service as a Marine, he provides readers a realistic insight into military culture. His emotionally intense novel unveils how difficult it is for military personnel to live civilian lives and maintain emotionally involved relationships during and post military life.

About the author
R.M.A. Spears is a retired Marine, having served 27 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. Assigned to 7th Marines, he was an integral part of the operational planning and execution of the Opening Gambit, the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and completed a follow-up tour the following year. Spears holds several medals for his service. Currently, he resides in Missouri where he is the founder and real estate developer for Spears Investment Group LLC.
