EAGLE RIVER, Wis.

The author Rick Bozic is a survivor of six strokes and a brain hemorrhage. In medical standards he should not have lived through such an ordeal and yet he was able to pull though. In "A Stroke of the Pen" (published by Xlibris) the author creates a collection of poems that conveys his positive outlook on life.

"A Stroke of the Pen" is a book of poetry that covers all aspects of emotions. Some clearly have a meaning by them while others are left up to the interpretation of the reader as to its meaning. It shows how poetry as a whole doesn't always have to end with a conclusion. The overall concept of the book is getting in touch with all of one's emotions no matter how happy or how ugly they may be.

This multifaceted book applies to anybody who has experienced everything from love to hate to loss.

About the Author

Rick Bozic had two of his first poems published in 1997. One of them received an honorable mention and was nominated for a presidential award. People can contact him at: rickbozic(at)yahoo(dot)com. He is inspired to write based upon the emotion that he is feeling at the time and sometimes he just puts the pen to the paper and he writes, not knowing what he is going to write about. His poetry started after suffering a series of five strokes and a brain hemorrhage. A poem may take only a few minutes to write but if he has to write about something specific it becomes forced and unnatural and usually doesn't come out very well. Writing is a passion and not a chore, One writes because it is in one's blood and no matter what happens, that will never change. A portion of book sales and signings will be donated to the American Stroke Association. He believes in giving and if they can find a way to help others it is a worthwhile investment.
