On Thursday, May 25, Dale Soules will participate in a Q & A panel for the International Filmmaker Project's screening of AWOL at the Made In NY Media Center by IFP, 30 John Street, Brooklyn, NY at 7:00 PM.

In AWOL, directed by Deb Shoval and starring Lola Kirke and Breeda Wool, Soules has the featured role of Lola Kirke's mother, Ruthie a hard-working, loving, single mom coming to terms with her daughter's sexuality while helping her find her way in the world. It's a story of star-crossed female lovers whose obstacles have less to do with societal norms than with the economic realities of rural Pennsylvania coal country. The independent film premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.

In addition to Soules, the panel discussion "Telling Queer Stories" also includes AWOL producer LA Teodosio (Love is Strange, The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson), AWOL director Deb Shoval, director Silas Howard (Transparent, A Kid LIke Jake, By Hook or By Crook), and film critic Sarah Fonseca (Buzzfeed, Nylon, Playboy).
