New Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce it has determined all seven plays in its 28th Season and will be opening its 2011-2012 Season with Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-wining musical Rent.

The six plays in New Rep's 2011-2012 Season which were previously announced on Friday, February 18, 2011 are 'ART;' In The Wake; Collected Stories; Long Day's Journey Into Night; Bakersfield Mist; and Little Shop of Horrors.

"I am thrilled to be able to announce our entire Season," states Kate Warner, New Rep's Artistic Director. "Rent is an amazing musical. It complements the rest of our season by reminding individuals of the impact this musical had on society in the 90's, and by charging future generations to take an active role in their communities."

Warner continues, "In planning our 28th Season, I sought out works that speak to the concept of legacy. Some plays will embrace the idea of mentorship and training. Others will examine moving family legacies. But all of the plays in our 2011-2012 Season will invite audience members to reflect upon what they value and how their ideals and choices impact future generations, while promising to engage and entertain us."

For the 2011-2012 Season, New Rep will continue to hold Press Openings on Monday nights at 7:30pm, with the exception of Rent, which will hold its Press Opening on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 7:30pm due to the Labor Day Holiday.
