On Friday evening, Bridge Rep of Boston announced the final production of its 2013-2014 season: Gidion's Knot, by Johnna Adams, which will play in June.

The company's public announcement came during a unique, well-attended fundraiser at BONOBOS Guideshop, where Producing Artistic Director Olivia D'Ambrosio said, "We are thrilled to put on the first Boston-area production of Gidion's Knot, a play by an American author which tackles themes that are both timely and timeless."

D'Ambrosio also expressed great enthusiasm toward the involvement of Boston theatre legend Karen MacDonald, who for a change of pace will serve as the the show's director -- a fun turn for the actress, who will be fresh off a run on Broadway as understudy for long-time friend Cherry Jones in The Glass Menagerie. With Gidion's Knot, Bridge Rep continues its bold approach to theater with another actor-driven production that creates a community event by cultivating an immediate connection between the performers and the audience.

Gidion's Knot by Johnna Adams and directed by MacDonald will feature Olivia D'Ambrosio and Deborah Martin at Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. The production runs June 5th - June 22nd.
