The Harbor Stage Company, the artist-run ensemble on Cape Cod's Wellfleet Harbor, will open their fifth season of intrepid, live performance with Robert Kropf's fiery new version of August Strindberg's volatile classic, Miss Julie.

Unfolding over the course of a single summer night, Miss Julie charts how the reckless daughter of a wealthy aristocrat and her father's enigmatic hired hand wrestle with sexual chemistry and social class. Adapted and directed by Harbor Artistic Director Robert Kropf, the piece is a daring exploration of intimacy, status, and desire and will feature Harbor co-founders Stacy Fischer, Jonathan Fielding, and Brenda Withers. Rounding out the resident creative team are stage manager Katie Graves, lighting designer John Malinowski, set designer Sara C. Walsh, and technical director Evan Farley. Performances begin Thursday June 16th at the Harbor's iconic seaside theater and will play through July 9th.

In keeping with the company's mission to produce great plays at fair prices for the right reason, and thanks to the support of Miss Julie sponsor Salon 54 and season sponsor WOMR, single tickets to Harbor performances are set at $23 (along with $65 three-play subscriptions) and are available at www.harborstage.org. The Harbor will also continue its tradition of First Fridays Pay-What-You-Can performances for each production and, in an effort to highlight the inspiring work of their neighboring non-profits, donate half of the proceeds from by-donation performances to deserving Cape charities. The Friends of the Wellfleet Libraries, an organization dedicated to enhancing the cultural life of the community and supporting the stellar Wellfleet Public Library, will partner with the Harbor for its Friday, June 17th Pay-What-You Can performance of Miss Julie, allowing all patrons to enjoy a play while supporting two worthy Cape causes.
