It is with considerable sadness that Gloucester Stage Company Board President Robert Boulrice makes the following announcement:

"Due to pressing family matters that require his attention, Managing Director Costin Manu has to return home for an undetermined period of time. He decided that, under the circumstances, he did not feel that he could devote adequate time to the fulfilling of his present duties for the GSC due to what might become a rather prolonged absence. Subsequently, after much deliberation and after having reached and accomplished nearly all of the goals and tasks for his contract year, after discussions with the board of directors, and, in fairness to the organization, Costin Manu made the difficult decision to resign from his position as Managing Director of the Gloucester Stage Company, effective September 26, 2014."

"I'm very disappointed that Costin won't be continuing with us," commented GSC Artistic Director Eric Engel. "He took a strong hold of Gloucester Stage Company's operations and proved to be a wonderful artistic collaborator as well. I'll miss him."

Board president Robert Boulrice stated, "This news came to us as quite a shock. Costin's tenure was short, but his impact was large. We are enjoying a spectacular 35th anniversary season and Costin's efforts figured prominently in this success. He will be missed and we wish him nothing but the best in the future."
