Michael Hoffman Directs OH, THE HUMANITY at BCT Gala Tonight, 9/8
Boise Contemporary Theater has announced that acclaimed Film Director, Michael Hoffman (Soapdish, Restoration, The Last Station) will be directing the short play OH, THE HUMANITY by Will Eno as part of BCT's Season Opening Party tonight, September 8th. Will Eno is among the honorees of the PEN Literary Awards, which were announced Wednesday.
BCT’s Annual Season Opening Party starts at 6:00pm tonight, September 8. The theater will get started with new work from Boise’s best young playmakers, the students of BCT Theater Lab. Next, you’ll see OH, THE HUMANITY, by Will Eno produced exclusively for this event. And because BCT loves great music as much as you do, the team has invited Travis and Alison Ward of Hillfolk Noir to bring the music they call “junkerdash” to the BCT stage. After everyone's rattled the floorboards, it will be time to step outside for dinner. Local food, wine and beer from 3 Girls Catering will be served under strings of lights in a beautiful setting unique to this event.
Tickets are $100 per person and there will be silent and reverse auctions. It’s always a memorable party and it’s BCT's biggest fundraiser of the season. Call Carissa Hartley, Patron Services Manager at 331-9224 ext 205 to buy your tickets now or for more information.
OH, THE HUMANITY: Sitting in a car that won't start, a man (Matthew CameRon Clark) and a woman (Tracy Sunderland) seek to find meaning and direction in life. They seek to find just the tiniest shred of certainty, consistency. A stranger (Dwayne Blackaller) arrives -- though he doesn't do what strangers always do, when strangers arrive. There will be expectations and surprises. There will be understanding and misunderstanding. There will be two chairs.
