Front row center rush $27.50 (i think that's the price).

When the front row seats sell out, they offer partial view and balcony seats.

Gypsy
Student Rush: $27.00 - 10 tickets in the front row sold on the day of the performance when the box office opens. Once these tickets are sold, box office may continue to sell student tickets in various partial-view sections of the theatre at management's discretion. On 2-show days, both performances are sold at the start of the day. Limit two per valid ID.

Standing Room: $27.00 - may be available at the box office on the day of the performance - only when the performance is sold out.

This production accepts credit cards for the above discounted tickets.

The stage is very high, so you do miss a lot when the action is going on upstage (which is rare--only the overture (you miss most of the orchestra), Rose placing the props during the Farm Boys scene, You'll Never Get Away From Me, and a little bit during Rose's Turn when Patti runs back there). I personally think the front row is amazing, because of how close everything is (especially the end of Rose's Turn), but if you want a perfect view, ask for a box seat in the first box on the right.

The front row is amazing. I don't feel like I missed anything. Patti throws the letter at you, and depending on where you are in the row, you might get a special prop to keep!

I would advise that you stay away from the balcony.

Just student rush it, front row isn't that bad and if you really don't want it then just ask for a box seat or a partial view seat in the orchestra. The box office staff at the St. James is very friendly and accommodating. Very nice gentlemen.

and people start lining up fairly early for front row seats, if that's really what you're aiming for.

and Patti legit hit the woman sitting next to me RIGHT in the eye with June's note at the end of Everything's Coming Up Roses.

You might even be hit in the face by a plate if you're sitting on the right side where Mr. Boyd throws his. re: Gypsy?

Still -- I think that any flaw the front row might have is all made up for in the last minute and a half of Rose's Turn. The final 'for me' right in front of you = breathtaking.

I have to agree with the others here. The few unimportant things you miss are entirely trumped by getting to see things so up close. This makes the whole experience just so much more alive. And having Patti sing, act her ass off, and basically fall apart in front of you is an fantastic experience.

I’ve sat in all 3 student rush “places” – the box, partial view orch, and front row (A, not BB though) and I loved front row the best. I’m not even that tall, and the stage IS very high, but the only scene I had trouble seeing was the “You’ll Never Get Away From Me” scene because it was further downstage. I didn’t mind it at all.

When I was in the box and orch., because they were all the way off to the side, I missed a lot of things that were on that side of the stage, such as June laying in her bed, Patti putting the pig and chicken in the background of the farmboys scene, a bit of the dressing room scenes, and more.

Front row is an amazing experience, go for it!

It just depends. I've rushed two Sundays. The first time, I got there around 8:30am (box office opens at noon), and there was a group of about 5 people that had been there since 5am (no lie!). But I rushed a couple weeks ago, again on a Sunday, and I got there at 10am and there was no one there and I was first in line....
