Too bad I went to a high school that did amazing shows. And I have seen a lot of bad ones that were not my high school. So yes I lucked out in high school. It was a blessing

No. Stop it. This is a gift. I was sure that Follies is about a group of middle-aged people reflecting on their young selves, but I’m not even sure this cast had gone through puberty when this was produced.

DId they tell him to just ramble on because they didn't want to have him humping a car? It's excruciating, as is the orchestra. The guy playing Chris looks cute shirtless though (which makes me feel kinda icky saying).

^I think it's okay if you don't want to have sex with him. He's over 21 now, just not when it was filmed. He's seriously pretty though.

Also, their "Fall of Saigon" is pretty impressive. You don't usually see effects like that in a high school production.

Ha, thanks for your reassurence. I think it just reminds me of being kinda uncomfortable in high school with our drama teacher who found excuses to have guys shirtless or in their underwear innearly every play we did (and oddly, not the girls...), but of course it's standard to play that scene in Saigon that way.

The productions' not bad actually compared to a lot of high school productions of a difficult show. Just that Engineer and the orchestra...

The thing I don't get is, if the school had the budget to do the Helicopter, etc, why American Dream looks so plain and cheap? Was the budget blown? I don't think you need a car as well, by any means, but a plain backdrop would seem a let down late in the show, after all of that.
