"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)." -Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
"What You Want" from Legally Blonde "Dreamgirls" from Dreamgirls (I think it's fun to listen to while on the treadmill or exercise bike) "Mary Jane / Mary Lane" from Reefer Madness: the Movie Musical (again, fun to listen to) "Let Me Come Home" from The Wedding Singer "Superstar" from Jesus Christ Superstar "Without Love" from Hairspray (again, depends on what you're doing)
Actually, I've even worked out to "Alive" from Jekyll and Hyde, haha.
I never tried "Whipped Into Shape!" Funny, because it essentially is about working out. I'll have to try it sometime.

I want to apologize for some offensive messages posted on this board under my name. The night 0f 12-15-08 I did not have internet access, and someone had used my name to post something offensive. My avatar was also changed. I dont' know what else was posted, or if anyone recieved bad PMs, but I want to apologize for that. I've changed my password, and even though I was not the one posting these messages it still needed to be corrected.
I don't have a mix but I've worked out to these cast albums.
Jersey Boys Spring Awakening Sweeney Todd(Lansburry and Cariou) Sweeney Todd(LuPone and Cerveris) Sweeney Todd(Depp and Carter) Young Frankenstein Bat Boy Hairspray(movie soundtrack)
I will say that if anyone listens to the Lansburry/Cariou Sweeney recording be advised not to turn the volume up during Prelude/Ballad of Sweeney Todd due in large part to the whistle. I was listening to it recently at the gym and I had the volume up and I knew it was coming and it came and scared the s*** out of me, but luckily no one saw me do that.
My favorite Broadway songs...ha! There are way to many to list but anything that Ethel Merman ever sang always gets me up and ready for action. (except her disco album!) an FYI this album was not the greatest. I highly recommend There's No Business Like Show Business: Merman's Greatest Hits or The Gypsy Recording Original Cast. Those are good starters.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
When I actually ran I ALWAYS started with "Into the Woods (Prologue)" because it's ten minutes long and by then I was warmed up and almost not regretting my decision to run in the first place. Then I would move on to:
All That Jazz from Chicago Raise You Up/Just Be from Kinky Boots La Vie Boheme from RENT One Day More from Les Mis
And basically all the long medium-fast paced songs I could think of at the time.
A real good one is Raise You Up/Just Be from Kinky Boots, which I know people already said. Other ones for me are: Without Love and You Cant Stop the Beat- Hairspray Here I go Again- Rock of Ages (I only listen to the Bway recording) Two By Two- Book of Mormon Seize the Day and King of New York- Newsies A lot of Sister Act Steal Your Rock and Roll- Memphis
I've never been to a gym, nor have I ever worked out (and a gym seems about as compatible with show music as sloppy joes with candied violets. Well, maybe not show music like Brooklyn, Rent, etc., compared to which a gym itself seems like candied violets.) I do encounter some fairly steep hills in my path on a daily basis, however, though I do my utmost to avoid them ( Anyone else notice just how hilly Manhattan can be?). In any event, when I meet up with one of the darned things, I soldier up the incline to the strains of Climb, Every Mountain. Then, after having reached the summit of my own personal Mt. Everest, I sing to myself, "A hundred million miracles are happening every day."
I've never had a candied violet (except maybe once, if that's what it was, and I loathed it), but I've had violet flavored candies- JuJuBees have a "violet" flavor which isn't too bad.
The overture to Promises Promises (especially the somewhat faster revival version) is a good one for on the treadmill.
