My favorite bit:

Once, I had to leave the Broadway production of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof because I'd already committed to a film. But the producers wanted to extend the run, so they started auditioning other actresses in my part.

One afternoon, my male co-star came into my dressing room and said: "You gotta come. You gotta see this, Kathleen." We crept in through the back door of the theatre and watched as Raquel Welch did an audition.

"Well, I just don't think that Kathleen has ever been feline enough," we heard her say. She was going around the stage with her hands like claws, hissing and making cat gestures. Oddly enough, the producers decided not to use her.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Oh good. There hasn't been a really bitchy theatrical memoir in a LONG time.

Is there an audiobook?

Couldn't you get your voice low enough for the audition?

Well, maybe you could perform portions of the book live for the next BWW holiday party.

I've been sick for a couple of weeks, and as a phlegmatic alto II, my voice is starting to resemble Ms. Turner's.

For unrelated reasons, I'm definitely buying her book.
I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

Oh, please. Cage was the most interesting thing about PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED.

What WAS with that voice tho? And the teeth?
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

The only two films Cage hasn't ruined for me are MOONSTRUCK (because otherwise, it's perfection) and NATIONAL TREASURE (shut up).

I find him unbearable. UNBEARABLE!!!!!

Robbie - he didn't ruin GUARDING TESS for me - but I always assumed that Shirley scared the living CRAP out of him.

I must say this. I'm sure he's talented. I'm sure he can act. My reaction to him is visceral and irrational. And I'm ok with that.

I think the show closed when Ms. Turner left.
Now living in DC. I really have to change my name on the board.

Borstal - I don't think anyone took over. If I remember correctly, it didn't even play 6 months.

It's okay. One of my best friends hates him, too. He think that he was once a good actor, but with every passing year his talent fades, so now he is a talentless oaf.

But that's just my friend.

He was SOO sexy in VALLEY GIRL, back when his teeth were a little askew and he was all gangly and goofy. Still one of my teen favorites.
