Ok, so I have basically become VERY obsessed with this show :) just... everything about it is SO amazing. First of all- the CAST. Anthony Rapp AND Amy Spanger!? It's like, too good to be true! hehe. And then add in someone I never knew of until I heard this, annaleigh ashford, who is like.. friggin AMAZING. And Benjamin Schrader and Joe Cassidy are also wonderful- especially ben in I'm Alive- just woah :) So yeah, they are all INCREDIBLY talented and amazing. And this show shows of Amy's and Anthony's voices better than like.. ANY other show I've heard either of them in! Then there's the story- wow. What an intense, interesting, and captivating story. It is VERY well written, and that's particularly impressive considering its only been in the workshop stages so far! Lastly, the music. While its not necasserily something I'd listen to all the way through without skipping anything, I do believe it contains SOME of the best written songs I've ever heard musically! Seriously. Let There Be Light, Just Another Day, I'm Alive, Didn't I see This Movie, Feeling Electric, and many others. it is simply UNBELIEVABLE music with absolutely incredible harmonies

So yeah, basically, I LOVE IT. haha. Does anyone know if anything is going on with it at the moment? I know it was workshopped, but is it turning into something more? If it does turn into something more, I REAALLY hope they keep the same cast. like, they NEED to keep it exactly the way it is.

I didn't actually get to see this, and I haven't heard any of the music, but it sounded interesting.

I remember being told by a few people that both Anthony Rapp and Amy Spanger have said that they're hoping it comes to off-Broadway in 2007. I really hope it does. The entire cast is incredible. As is the show, so powerful and the songs are all amazing. Joe Cassidy needs to come back to Broadway, well *hopefully* off-Broadway, soon. Here's to Feeling Electric coming soon! re: Feeling Electric.

OH, dude, I forgot to mention, they are ALL freaking UNBELIEVABLE actors!! In the second act... I do believe there is REAL crying by like.. almost everyone. If its not real then they SURE faked it AMAZINGLY. Yeah... the second act is like insanely emotional and amazing :)

and, if anyone would like a SUPER in-depth summary and info page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feeling_Electric

that basically tells you all you need to know about the show. haha

and YAY for it comming to off broadway re: Feeling Electric omg, that would make my life if it did off broadway then went to broadway (I think it might just have the potential to be the next RENT.. I really do)

I saw the workshop in Seattle. HATED it. But if you adore Bare and Rent, it is sure to be your cup of tea. Spanger was superb with the mediocre, pointless material.

Amy really is SPECTACULAR :) and honestly, I never realized how much.. I'd never really seen her ACT act before. Like, dramatic acting. I've only seen her in more comedic parts, and so I never knew how FANTASTIC of an actress she is. She nearly made me cry, and that's just LISTENING to it! she practically matches idina for vulnerability, and that is NO easy task. Oh, and she did new styles of music too! she nearly went like... a little bit opreic almost in some! and it was sooooo pretty! I mean obviously NO ONE can match that girl's belt, and she DID do some entirey kick ass belting in this too, but it was really cool to hear her do non-belt stuff as well:)

I also saw the Seattle workshop and thought it was great. It's refreshing to see a musical that has a truly original concept and story. (Not to mention seeing Amy Spanger belt her face off!)

I adore this show like no other. I wanted to see it so badly last year, so I really hope that there is another workshop that I have the opportunity to see.

ugg I know, they need to do a workshop in nyc! or, even better, it needs to be on off broadway! :P WITH the exact same cast it had in the workshop. Although... I do worry about the fact that.. well, there's just no making amy pass for a woman who's old enough to have two teenage kids. haha. Thats my ONLY concern.. is, they would probably have to go with someone a bit older for the actual production wouldn't they? Its so unfair if they've tainted us with the amazingness of amy's voice just for her not to be able to actually play the role in the production haha. If amy absolutely positively oculd not do it, my second pick would prob be Sherie- because, sherie's sherie and I bet she kicked ASS in the role too! And she's a bit closer to the right age I think. Actually... norbert would be incredible too.. I think I need to hear that version as well! hehe

I was lucky enough to see this show last fall at NYMF, and I can honestly say that it altered my world. It is *incredible*. Amy Spanger gave one of the most inspiring, breath taking performances I've ever seen. Joe Cassidy is a force to be reckoned with, and I hope his career grows, he deserves any success that comes his way. Anthony Rapp was, of course, perfect. Annaleigh has a really full and beautiful voice, and I predict that if Benjamin gets the right break, he'll be big.

Last I heard, the show did a couple workshops. Though, sadly, without Amy due to The Wedding Singer. I haven't heard anything else in a while, but I'm hoping for the best. It's an amazing piece of theater.

The authors are quite busy. Tom Kitt is working on High Fidelity and Brian Yorkey's flying between Seattle, LA and NY. I know they're always working on it, though. I love it. I hope they finish it and get a New York production soon, hopefully with Amy. She was superb in the piece.

I saw the show at NYMF last year because of the cast, and left thanking whatever higher power that I did because it was amazing. I was a mess afterwards.

Amy and Anthony were both phenomenal (as was the whole cast)

when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

I also thanked a higher power for seeing Feeling Electric last year, but for a completely different reason. When I saw it last year, I was dealing with a lot of recent losses in my life. Depression, and even thoughts of suicide were in my mind. This show changed me forever. The biggest part of that was the song Come With Me. Seeing how tortured Diana was at that point, and ready to end it all was a wake up call. I decided then and there that I was not going to end up like that. I have been getting better every day since. I am greatful for Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's creation of this amazing piece and the amazing performances by the cast (particularly Amy Spanger). If not for Feeling Electric, I am sure I would not be here right now. It is a powerful piece of theater, and I hope it gets the production it deserves someday.

The more I listen to it the more I NEED it to get to broadway or at least off broadway!! haha, seriously, like, it just AMAZES me that this is the workshop. Because, I've heard the RENT NYTW. And it was... not the greatest. If this is how amazing this show is at THAT stage, how friggin unbelievable will it be once they make some changes for the better to it and stuff!? All I ask, again, is that they keep the cast. JUST the way it is. Although I do really want to hear the sherie/norbert version too because, well, sherie and norbert are spectacular in everything they do, but seriously, Amy is just... a complete and utter force to be reckoned with. As is anthony. And everyone else in the cast. And seriously, I really dont think I've ever heard that much amazing ACTING coming from one show. Like, they are ALL sooooo amazing! Ok, I'm rambling, but yeah. This show needs to get to off broadway or broadway, or at very least have a legit recording done, with the same cast :) heyyy, sherie was involved in the beginning, I wonder if she could have them do it over at sh-k-boom!

oh, and, my favorite songs that I CANNOT go a day without listening to:

-Let There Be Light (one of THE most inspirational songs ever)
-Just Another Day
-Dan Brown (simply because its so fun and amy's the best)
-Growing Up Unstable (I absolutely ADORE annaleigh, her voice in incredible)
-I'm Alive (holy cow- its just so friggin amazing)
-Didnt I See This Movie (has amy EVER been better? I do not believe so)
-Feeling Electric (um.. yeah...it was after hearing this that I realized RENT is SO beneath Anthony's abilities :P haha, serious, he is SOO kick ass its not even funny)
-Superboy and Invisible Girl (again, I adore annaleigh)
-Live Every Day (AMAZING. it may just be my absolute FAVORITE song as of now. anthony and annaleigh sound SO great together too)
-Let There Be Light (reprise)- It rivals RENT for the most amazing finale ever written. It really, really does.

I was actually just thinking of this show today. With NYMF coming up I was thinking of a few of the shows I saw last year that I adored and was wondering why I haven't heard anything about any of them being picked up. I saw over 20 shows last year and this one was my favorite. I would LOOOVE to see this show again. It got me good re: Feeling Electric

And I hope I get to see it again with the NYMF cast - perfection.

"Light in the Dark" has got to be one of the most incredible songs I've ever heard. It is so powerful. Can't get enough of it. I LOVE in the demo with Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott (these two do every single demo together, I swear) when Norbert sings "night falls, I walk through the walls" instead of "night falls, I stare at the walls." Can't get enough of it. But yes, in all seriousness, Light in the Dark = amazing.

There's a strong possibility of a full production very soon. I hope things fall into place so it can happen.

The NYMF was not the last we'll see of this show.
