Let's say Trump gets arrested and they put him in jail. He is former POTUS and gets Secret Service protection for the rest of his life. Would this mean the agents would have to spend their time outside his jail cell 24X7?  BTW - Chris Rock did a funny take on this situation in his comedy routine the other night, same time he "destroyed" Will Smith.

He will never spend time in a jail cell. Not for one second. Best case? He wins the primary, loses, and fades away until he dies of McDonald's in a few years.

iI agree that unfortunately Trump will probably not serve any time in a cell, ol regerettably, even be subjected to a perp walk.

Based on what I've been reading/watching:

I think that as of today 3/26, it is very likely he will be indicted tomorrow (or at least this week) and the subsequent arrest will be swift, probably within 24 hours (to narrow the window of time so he won't be able to do too many midnight rants).

Consensus also seems to be he will not be able to avoid a mug shot, either. But don't look for that pic on Fox.

Short answer -- NO.  The Trumps of this world never face significant consequences for their actions.  Trump will get away with everything.  He always has.

Maximum 4 years in prison. Part of me wants him to be able to run in 2024, lose the GOP primary and then run as an independent so the GOP ends up splitting their votes between him and [probably] DeSantis.

Basically nothing, he appeared in court and the 32 counts were revealed. Trump went back to Florida and made a speech in front of family and friends. Nothing in this case will happen until December. Most legal minds even with people who are not fans of Trump say this whole thing is a joke. When you got Jeb Bush who hates Trump probably more than anybody on the earth saying he should not have been arrested than that says it all.

No jokes coming up Dumpie2022, a lot more to be embarrassed by if you ever voted for the piece of ****.  Some day they'll say he committed suicide but will he? Or is he going to the Ken Lay Hotel?

OK, It was 34 counts not 32. I knew the number of counts, I just made a typing error. Did Trump return to Florida the same day and make a speech in front of family/friends? (the answer is yes.) I said nothing will happen until December, Trump does not have to appear in court until Dec 4th. See below. I said Jeb Bush said Trump should not have been arrested. See his tweet below. Ok, I can't prove in a post that most legal minds consider this indictment a joke so let's just settle and say it is my opinion.

Way to resort to name calling, geez. Not defending Trump at all, just pointing out this particular case is a joke. If you wanted to get Trump, you had Russian collusion, two impeachments and Jan 6th. Those things were relevant not paying off some porn star.
